Bonjour babes,
After an amazing 2 weeks off, I’m back to school and my busy life which means more exciting news for Balmain & Baguettes.
In the land of pasta, pizza, and perfect boys my friend Monique and I set out to go to the Italian island of Sicily. We first started out in Palermo which has the famously beautiful Mondello Beach. Here Monique and I went paddle boarding and of course tanned (when we had sun) to get our colour back from the rarely sunny Paris. Besides eating the best food and drinking the best cappuccinos I’ve ever had, we walked a lot and really explored what life was like in Palermo. It’s one of those small towns where you really feel like family no matter where you go, so we felt very welcomed and I would go back anytime.
We than took a train more to the south of Italy to Catania. Although Catania is of course beautiful, it definitely is more of a busy city than a laid back beach town like Palermo. The beach is quite dirty, and you can tell it is the industrialized portion of Italy. We got a chance to take a 5 hour hike (which I call an agility run), up the volcano called Etna. It was definitely a work out, but it felt so good to be in the outdoors, on top of the clouds with the sun shining on your back.
Although Italy was absolutely stunning, I was very excited to be back home because I have been offered an AMAZING job opportunity. I am pleased to announce that I’m working for StyleCartel.com, which if you haven’t heard of is an online magazine about fashion, lifestyle, beauty, travel, etc. I would definitely recommend checking out the website! I will be writing some of their blog posts mostly about fashion, with an emphasis on curvy fashion. These days it seems that everyone in fashion is either a size 0 or a plus size, but what about the girls in-between? So I will be able to interview and write posts about a bunch of different designers, will be reviewing items, styling, modelling and be more as a sort of ambassador. So make sure to keep an eye out for my articles and check out their stuff! I’ll attach some test pictures I did for them taken by the extremely talented Sophia Gracia.
Last but not least, Halloween was this past weekend, so I just wanted to share a few pictures of me and my friends. It’s always fun dressing up and going out!
My birthday’s next week so I’ll be sure to celebrate and party (like we all know I do best), and keep you guys updated on my birthday weekend and any new and exciting updates.
Au revoir mon amour!
Xo,
Veronica
